One of the most widespread symbolic meanings of sky lanterns is the expression of wishes and hopes. People often write their wishes, prayers, or messages on the lanterns before releasing them into the sky, believing that as the lanterns ascend, their wishes will be carried to the heavens.

Love Does
This gallery features Love Does, an organization that fights for freedom and human rights, works to improve educational opportunities, and tries to be helpful to those in need of a voice and a friend. Love Does programs include education programs in India, a leadership academy in Uganda, and a girl's home in Nepal. Numerous initiatives are also taking place in countries such as Somalia, Afghanistan, Congo, Dominican Republic, Ukraine, Poland, Israel, and Burkina Faso. The art in this gallery has been built by Hoolock and members of it's community.
