Their mighty canopy, the world's gentle balm,
In coffer of carbon, lie under their palm.
Yet the heartless axe of humanity's harm,
Threatens to shatter this life-giving psalm.
On Earth Day, let's learn their role in our realm,
And commit to their preservation, as bountiful alms.
